Job description

Pay Range:  $50 per fitness class, $23 per hour for front desk coverage
Location: Chicago, IL at various locations downtown.
Work Hours: You will support at various locations in and around the Downtown Loop at variously scheduled times primarily between 11am-7pm. Please note your availability in your application.
Reports to: Fitness Manager in Chicago
 
 
Your Mission:
Your mission is to lead group fitness sessions across various locations within the Chicago market, while providing the highest level of customer service. You will also offer member support from the front desk during desk coverage shifts, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere at each location you step into.

As a result of your time in this role, you brought joy to hundreds of human beings who work in the downtown Chicago area.  You created such deep and meaningful relationships with the building's tenants that they never wanted Playbook to leave. Your legacy brought wellness and peak performance to the masses and turned their building into somewhere they were excited to show up every day.
What You're Responsible For:
  • Group Fitness Programming: Plan and lead group fitness classes throughout various locations in downtown Chicago. Provide timely and professional communication to members before and after sessions to ensure a hospitality-focused experience.
  • Five-Star Hospitality Service: Ensure a wonderful experience for clients at the front desk and by anticipating their needs and bringing special touches to every session. For example: equipment is prepared ahead of time, towels are placed on mats, and the smallest details of the member experience are attended to.
  • Client Satisfaction and Engagement: Prioritize client satisfaction by actively engaging with the client to understand their needs and preferences. Implement innovative strategies and programs to enhance their experience, fostering a vibrant and connected community that drives long-term loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Team and Operational Support: You will support the Operations Team with projects to increase client engagement and member experience.
Baseline Requirements:
  • You have 1+ years experience in a fitness center environment teaching group fitness classes in formats such as strength, bootcamp, HIIT, core, etc. Even better if your experience has touched the corporate fitness or wellness sector. 
  • Experience teaching speciality group formats such as yoga or pilates a plus. 
  • You have a valid Group Fitness certification from a nationally recognized organization.
  • You have an up-to-date CPR and AED certification.
  • You are technologically savvy and can assist members with class and training sign-ups through our native technology as needed.

  • Stellar Communicator: You are known for clearly communicating your points - whether in email or verbally.  In this role you'll be communicating a lot about bookings (both coordinating them and confirming), sending vendor communications, and engaging with different levels of tenants (office managers to C-Suite).
