Job description

Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club in St. George, UT is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of part-time Wellness Center Fitness Instructor to teach group exercise classes, specifically in the areas of TRX and strength classes geared towards healthy older-adult populations. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality and fitness environment and be highly focused in providing superior customer service.

Key Responsibilities of the Fitness Instructor:
• Guides members through initial and progressive training in the areas of flexibility, aerobic conditioning and strength training.
• Instructs fitness and aerobic classes each week.
• Teaches proper stretching, strengthening and aerobic exercise.
• Insures proper, up-to-date and safe procedures are used in the teaching of all classes.
• Participates in continuing education seminars and workshops.
• Inspects exercise equipment and areas for cleanliness and safety. Performs light custodial duties such as wiping down group class fitness equipment..
Classes may be either indoor, controlled exercise settings, or indoor/outdoor
• Monitors classes in progress, providing constructive assistance.
• Enforces all rules and regulations in a polite and professional manner.
• Represents the community association’s fitness center at meetings, seminars, and events with the fitness director, or in the absence of the fitness director.
• Assists the fitness director with special events, tournaments, recognition programs, and any outdoor sports related activities
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Performs other duties as required

Minimum Job Requirements
• Nationally recognized certification such as ACE, NASM, ACSM for group instruction and/or personal training. AED, CPR and First Aid.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be 18 years of age.
 

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
• Able to work during peak hours which may include mornings and evenings
• Comprehensive understanding of current health and fitness standards and principles
• Extensive knowledge of health and fitness equipment
