Think fantasy sports, but for exercising. We're now looking for our first full-time marketing hire to help introduce Play Action to the world. If you love sports, fitness, internet culture, and creating content people actually want to watch, we'd love to talk.## **The Role**This isn't a traditional marketing job. You'll be our first marketing hire, working directly with the founder to build the Play Action brand from the ground up.You'll have a lot of ownership and a lot of creative freedom. Some days you'll be filming content, other days you'll be brainstorming campaign ideas, testing paid ads, helping produce a livestream, or reaching out to podcasts. If you're someone who likes wearing multiple hats and wants to help build something from day one, you'll fit right in.## **What You'll Do**Your primary focus will be creating great content and growing our community. That includes:* Planning, filming, and editing short-form and long-form videos* Managing our presence across TikTok, Instagram, X, Reddit, and Bluesky* Building an engaged community that gets excited about Play Action* Measure content performance and use data to improve future campaigns.* Producing and managing Twitch and YouTube livestreamsAs we grow, you'll also help with:* Launching and optimizing paid campaigns across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube* Pitching podcasts, YouTube channels, and media opportunities for the company and founder* Writing press releases and helping build relationships with sports and tech media* Working with creators, influencers, and potential brand partnersBeing comfortable on camera is a plus, but it's not required.## **What Success Looks Like**In your first year, we'd love to see you help us:* Build a recognizable brand across social media* Create content people consistently share and talk about* Grow a passionate community around the app* Increase app downloads through organic and paid marketing* Land podcast appearances and media coverage* Help establish Play Action as a recognizable name in sports fitness## **What We're Looking For**We're much more interested in talent and creativity than checking every box.You should have:* A portfolio of content you've planned, filmed, edited, and published* Strong video editing and storytelling skills* A good understanding of sports culture, memes, fantasy sports, betting, and fitness* Excellent writing and communication skills* A willingness to experiment, learn quickly, and solve problemsExperience with paid advertising, PR, livestream production, or creator partnerships is a plus, but you don't need to be an expert. If you're eager to learn, we'll figure it out together.Experience with tools like Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, OBS, Canva, or Meta Ads Manager is also a plus.## **Location**This is a hybrid position in Los Angeles centered around the Los Feliz/Echo Park neighborhoods.Much of the work can be done remotely, but we'll regularly be filming content, attending sporting events, meeting with creators, and producing live content in person. Some evenings and weekends will occasionally be part of the job when big sporting events create great content opportunities.## **Compensation*** $71,000 salary* Equity opportunity* Flexible work environment* Opportunity to help build a company from its earliest stage* As Play Action grows, you'll have opportunities to grow your role, compensation, and responsibilities alongside the company## **Note from the CEO**I know this role asks a lot, and I also know the starting salary isn't what someone with these skills could earn at a larger company. That's the reality of an early-stage startup. We're investing every dollar we can into building Play Action, and this salary reflects our current pre-seed budget. I'm committed to rewarding the people who help build this company. As we grow, compensation and opportunities will grow alongside the business. #J-18808-Ljbffr
