Job description

JOB SUMMARY: As a Parts Sales Representative at The Ironpeddlers, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers have a seamless and positive experience when purchasing heavy equipment and machinery parts. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers at the parts counter, providing expert product knowledge, processing parts orders accurately and efficiently, and building lasting relationships through exceptional customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Customer Assistance:

o Greet customers at the parts counter and answer phones, actively listening to their needs and providing knowledgeable assistance in identifying the correct parts for their heavy equipment and machinery.

· Product Knowledge:

o Develop a comprehensive understanding of The Ironpeddlers' parts inventory, including specifications, compatibility, and applications for different makes and models of machinery.

· Order Processing:

o Efficiently and accurately process parts orders through the company's point-of-sale system, ensuring correct parts selection, invoicing, and packaging for customers.

· Inventory Management:

o Maintain the parts counter and storage area in an organized and presentable manner. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the Parts Manager to reorder stock as needed.

· Technical Support:

o Provide technical advice and guidance to customers regarding parts installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, enhancing their confidence in The Ironpeddlers' expertise.

· Upselling and Cross-Selling:

o Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional products or services that align with the customer's needs, contributing to increased revenue for the company.

· Customer Relationship Building:

o Establish strong relationships with customers by being courteous, attentive, and responsive to their inquiries and concerns. Strive to create a positive and memorable experience for each customer.

· Team Collaboration:

o Work closely with other departments, such as Service and Sales, to coordinate efforts and ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

· Continuous Learning:

o Stay up-to-date with industry trends, product developments, and advancements in heavy equipment and machinery technology to provide informed recommendations to customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or technical training in machinery or a related field is a plus.

· Previous experience in automotive, heavy equipment, or machinery parts sales is preferred.

· Strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of heavy equipment and machinery.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers.

· Proficient computer skills and experience with point-of-sale systems.

· Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and handle a high volume of parts inquiries.

· Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude towards customer service.

· This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent customer service abilities.
