Job description

Part Time PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR & BILLER, IN OFFICE

Behavioral Health Insurance Billing, Credentialing, & Understanding of Full Revenue Cycle

Pathways for Change,  Children’s Counseling Center is seeking an experienced, highly capable Practice Administrator/Biller, in person, in office, who brings a demonstrated level of excellence to behavioral health billing and practice operations. This is an in office position. Virtual applicants will not be considered.

This is not an entry-level billing position.

We are looking for someone whose experience has prepared them to walk into a busy behavioral health practice, understand the revenue cycle, deep knowledge of insurance billing and credentialing, and be able to identify problems, and solutions.

You should be the person who notices the aging insurance claim.

The person who follows the denial all the way through.

The person who knows when an insurance payment doesn’t reconcile correctly.

The person who doesn’t leave a difficult account sitting because it requires three phone calls and an hour of persistence.

Your experience should show in the way you work.

We’re looking for expertise in:

  • Behavioral health insurance billing
  • Full revenue-cycle management
  • Claims submission and follow-up
  • Denials, rejections, and appeals
  • Aging accounts receivable
  • Insurance payment reconciliation
  • Credentialing and payer enrollment
  • Eligibility and benefit verification
  • Identifying billing discrepancies and revenue leakage
  • Patient balances and collection follow-up
  • EHR and clearinghouse workflows
  • Maintaining accurate, organized billing records
  • Comfortable interacting with clients
  • Comfortable interacting with staff
  • An excellent understanding of HIPAA compliance

This position requires someone who is proactive, accountable, extremely organized, persistent, and exceptionally detail-oriented who enjoys working within an office and with a team of clinicians.

We do not want someone who simply works the billing queue placed in front of them.

We want someone who owns the outcome.

Someone who asks:

Why hasn’t this claim paid?

Where is this money?

What is holding this credentialing application up?

What needs to be corrected so this doesn’t happen again?

And then follows it through to resolution.

If you are the right candidate: You have significant hands-on experience in healthcare billing, preferably behavioral health.

You understand that excellent revenue-cycle management requires more than submitting claims. It requires investigation, follow-through, communication, accuracy, and persistence.

You are comfortable tackling complicated problems.

You don’t avoid difficult phone calls.

You don’t assume someone else is handling it.

And you don’t need to be reminded to finish what you started.

We value people who take pride in being exceptionally good at what they do.

If your experience has made you the person others rely on when a billing problem is complicated, an insurance company isn’t responding, or the numbers simply don’t make sense, we would like to meet you.

Position

Part-time | Approximately 20 hours per week to start. Competitive pay, PTO, and flexible schedule.
