ย Company: Leading Automotive Electronics Manufacturerย 
We are redefining the look, feel, and user experience of modern automotive electronics products and are looking for a designer who wants to help shape that vision. This role is an opportunity to influence the next generation of products by creating designs that not only look innovative but also improve functionality, usability, and overall brand identity. We are looking for someone who understands how to blend modern industrial design with real-world product execution and user expectations.ย 
The Industrial Designer will support the development of new automotive and consumer electronics products by creating product concepts, refining usability, and establishing a cohesive visual and functional design language across the brand portfolio. Reporting to the Engineering / Development Manager, this role works closely with engineering and product development teamsย to translate ideas into manufacturable, user-focused product designs.ย 
This position is currently structured as a part-time/contract opportunity with potential for expanded involvement based on project needs and performance. The ideal candidate combines strong industrial design fundamentals with a practical understanding of product functionality, user interaction, materials, and manufacturability.ย 
The candidate should be highly creative, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing aesthetics with real-world usability and engineering constraints. Experience in automotive electronics, consumer electronics, or related industries is strongly preferred.ย 
Key Responsibilities
- Develop industrial design concepts for automotive and consumer electronic products.ย 
- Create cohesive product styling and visual design language aligned with brand direction and product positioning.ย 
- Enhance product functionality and usability through thoughtful industrial design and user-focused problem-solving.ย 
- Produce concept sketches, renderings, mockups, and CAD-based design proposals.ย 
- Assist in defining product materials, finishes, textures, colors, and overall CMF direction.
- Participate in product brainstorming, concept development, and design review meetings.ย 
- Refine physical product ergonomics, interface placement, and overall user interaction experience.ย 
- Support prototype evaluations and recommend design improvements based on testing and feedback.ย 
Qualifications
- Experience in industrial design for consumer electronics, automotive electronics, or related product categories.ย 
- Strong portfolio demonstrating product concept development, styling, and functional design work.ย 
- Understanding of product development processes, manufacturing methods, and engineering limitations.ย 
- Proficiency in software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.ย 
- Automotive aftermarket or 12-volt industry experience is a plus.ย
