Teacher Assistant (Early Childhood)
Location: Brighton, New York (14618)
TES Staffing is seeking caring, reliable, and professional Teacher Assistants to join our Early Childhood Education team.  This school offers childcare beginning at 8 weeks and continuing through Pre-K, School-age Care, and Vacation Camps. Teacher Assistants work collaboratively with Lead Teachers to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children from infancy through preschool.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education, value teamwork, and are committed to supporting children’s growth across all developmental areas.
Schedule Options
  • Full-Time (40 hours/week):
    Availability required Monday–Friday between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
  • Part-Time (25–30 hours/week):
    Availability required Monday–Friday between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM
Pay:
  • $18/hr.  Annual merit increases

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Lead Teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
  • Assist with daily care routines, including feeding, diapering, toileting, and rest time
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
  • Observe and document developmental milestones under the direction of the Lead Teacher
  • Provide responsive, respectful care to infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children
  • Supervise children during classroom activities, transitions, outdoor play, and special activity spaces
  • Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and administrators to ensure consistent communication and teamwork
  • Interact professionally with families and support positive family engagement
  • Attend required trainings, staff meetings, and professional development sessions
  • Follow all OCFS licensing regulations and report concerns or suspected violations promptly
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry children weighing 10–15 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, stand, and sit on the floor or child-sized furniture for extended periods
  • Ability to supervise children indoors and outdoors, including playgrounds and uneven surfaces
  • Active engagement in play and movement-based activities
Work Environment
  • Infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms
  • Outdoor learning spaces, playgrounds, and walking paths
  • Gymnasium and pool facilities (as applicable)
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions during outdoor activities
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field

  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications preferred
