Founded in 2020, IFP was built on a simple but ambitious idea: bring together the best people, practices, and ideas to set the standard of care in the funeral profession. The company is guided by four core values: Seek to Understand, Commit to Excellence, Dare to Lead, and Dream to Impact.

Today, IFP owns and supports 90+ funeral home locations across the country. IFP focuses on empowering local operators, providing the people, practices, and infrastructure that let them focus on what matters most: honoring lives and comforting families.

Role Overview

The Funeral Assistant plays a vital role in IFP's mission by supporting the day-to-day operations of the funeral home and ensuring families receive dignified, professional care at every step. • Perform removals/transfers of decedents with dignity, care, and professionalism
  • Set up and take down graves for services
  • Assist with funerals and services as needed
  • Perform miscellaneous work around the funeral home, including cleaning, organizing, and setting headstones
  • Once properly trained, may opt into an overnight/weekend on-call rotation

    Qualifications

    • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs, and to maneuver cots and stretchers safely

    • Comfortable working in emotionally sensitive environments and with families in grief
    • Strong sense of professionalism, discretion, and personal integrity
    • Prior experience in funeral service, medical transport, EMS, or a related field is a plus but not required
    • Must be at least 18 years of age

      Compensation

This role is compensated at $16$18 per hour, based on experience, for general funeral home duties. Transfers/removals are compensated separately on a piece rate basis at $100 per transport. State law requires that total piece rate earnings meet or exceed minimum wage for all hours worked; in any period where the effective hourly rate falls below the applicable minimum wage, compensation will be adjusted accordingly.

        Why IFP?

Our core vision is to find, achieve, and enjoy a better way. We believe there is always something we can do to better serve each other and the families in our communities. We are committed to being the employer and provider of choice in every market we serve.
