π― Position Summary
The Clinical Outsourcing Manager (COM) is responsible for managing the end-to-end outsourcing strategy for clinical trials and clinical development activities. This role partners with cross-functional stakeholders including Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and external CROs/vendors to ensure successful execution of outsourced clinical services.
The COM drives vendor selection, contract execution, and outsourcing governance while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and budget objectives.
π Key Responsibilities
π Vendor & Outsourcing Management
Lead clinical outsourcing strategy for assigned clinical studies and programs
Manage CRO and vendor selection, onboarding, and performance oversight
Serve as primary point of contact for vendor-related escalations
Ensure utilization of preferred and qualified vendors
π Contracts & RFP/RFI Management
Lead preparation and execution of RFP/RFI processes
Manage contract lifecycle activities including MSAs, SOWs, amendments, and confidentiality agreements
Lead contract negotiations to ensure cost-effective and compliant agreements
Collaborate with Legal and Procurement on contract templates and compliance requirements
π° Budgeting & Financial Oversight
Support clinical trial budget development, forecasting, and cost analysis
Review vendor budgets, bid grids, and pricing models
Collaborate with Finance on financial tracking and reporting
Ensure alignment with annual study and program financial targets
π§ͺ Clinical Study Support
Support outsourcing for Phase IβIV clinical studies and related services
Oversee outsourced study execution and vendor deliverables
Ensure adherence to GCP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory requirements
Provide input into study planning, feasibility, and operational planning activities
π€ Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with Clinical Study Teams, Vendor Management Leads, and Strategic Partners
Represent outsourcing function in study team and governance meetings
Ensure alignment across global stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Communicate vendor performance updates and risk mitigation strategies
