Job description

What to Expect The Semi Outbound Logistics team is advancing Tesla's mission of accelerating the transition to sustainable energy through the deployment of Class 8 trucks at scale by delivering them to our customers timely and efficiently. As an Associate Manager in Outbound Logistics on the Tesla Semi team, you will play a critical part in the delivery of the Tesla Semi and help shape the customers' first impression of the product. Responsibilities include managing the process of decking / piggybacking outbound trucks for delivery.

The position will manage building and managing the team of associates that physically mount the trucks for delivery as well as the execution process as we ramp up production volumes. The Associate Manager role is onsite in Sparks, Nevada may require travel about 10% of the time. What You'll Do * Ensuring that all outbound loads are safely connected and meet all DOT standards * Ensuring that saddle equipment used meets specifications prior to use * Select and on-board associates to perform the decking work * Optimize and improve the process to meet safety, quality, and efficiency targets * Participate in carrier management processes, selection, qualification, and performance evaluation * Implement specific internal customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics, and communication protocols * Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes. Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as schedule compression, routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers What You'll Bring * Minimum 8-10 years' experience in operations and / or supply chain related functions * Extensive knowledge of vehicle logistics and specialty equipment.

Preference given to those in vehicle/ truck delivery * A passionate and high energy leader, who possesses diplomacy and cooperative style necessary to positively influence others * Hands-on team leadership skills in motivating and developing individuals and teams. Mentoring skills and the ability to accept and delegate responsibilities. Evidence of customer-focused, both internal and external, and result-oriented management style * Leadership with complex, cross functional, global projects include setting scope, reaching consensus, leading execution and driving results * Extensive knowledge of operations management including previous experience working with complex procurement, production and logistics and a thorough understanding of best practices * Familiarity with freight equipment, carriers, and processes.
