The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the warehouse, shipping, and receiving departments. This includes labor scheduling, supervision, and efficient use of space, equipment, and personnel. Key areas of responsibility include staffing, warehouse operations, facility and equipment maintenance, safety and security programs, quality control, housekeeping, sanitation, budgeting, and customer service.
How you create impact
  • Develop and lead programs to ensure efficient and cost-effective facility operations.
  • Plan and schedule all distribution services: receiving, storing, shipping, handling returns/damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative tasks.
  • Forecast long-term labor needs based on sales and management input.
  • Recommend operational improvements to the Branch Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager and Warehouse Supervisor to set goals.
  • Create and monitor space utilization plans to meet cost and service standards.
  • Implement and maintain an effective product locator system.
  • Direct warehouse supervisory staff to meet operational goals.
  • Establish procedures for efficient equipment use.
  • Lead safety programs for personnel, equipment, and property.
  • Manage warehouse housekeeping programs.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control for all accounts.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective order picking and shipping.
  • Oversee transportation in and out of the warehouse to meet standards.
  • Prepare accurate and timely operational reports.
  • Comply with Kuehne + Nagel's Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment policies.
  • Analyze manpower needs for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual planning.
  • Resolve customer shipping and receiving issues.
  • Review reports to ensure account profitability.
  • Optimize storage utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies.
  • Adhere to Retail, Pharmaceutical, and OSHA regulations.

What we would like you to bring
  • Minimum of 5 years' management experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Union environment experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficient with personal computers and materials handling equipment.
  • Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven success in automated warehouse operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Skilled in planning, staffing, and budgeting.

Base wage is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
