Job Summary
The Oracle Fusion HCM Functional Technical Lead/Architect is a hands on senior role responsible for the end to end functional and technical architecture of the Oracle Fusion HCM platform. This role serves as the primary authority for HCM solution design and delivery, including configuration standards, integrations, security, and customizations across Core HR, Payroll, Talent, Recruiting, Learning, and related HCM modules.
In this role, you will work closely with HR, Product, and IT stakeholders to translate business strategy and requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant HCM solutions. You will actively design and build solutions while providing architectural governance and technical leadership. The role involves guiding onshore and offshore delivery teams, managing technical debt, and supporting integrations, quarterly upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure platform stability, data integrity, and alignment with enterprise standards.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
• Own the end to end Oracle Fusion HCM architecture and act as the primary design authority.
• Define and enforce configuration, integration, security, and extensibility standards aligned with enterprise architecture.
• Design scalable solutions across Core HR, Payroll, Talent, Recruiting, Learning, Payroll, Time & Labor, Absence, Compensation, and related modules.
• Partner with HR business users and Product Owners to understand business processes and requirements.
• Lead requirement gathering workshops and stakeholder discussions.
• Translate requirements into clear functional documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and configuration designs.
• Act as a hands on Functional Technical Lead supporting design and build activities.
• Translate functional requirements into technical specifications for development teams.
• Provide leadership and oversight to offshore development teams while remaining actively engaged in delivery.
• Lead sprint planning, estimation, execution, and milestone delivery.
o Review and guide development across: Fast Formulas, BI Publisher, HCM Extracts / HDL, REST/SOAP APIs, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Visual Builder / Visual Builder Studio , (VBS), Oracle APEX (as applicable)
• Architect and govern integrations between Oracle HCM and internal/external systems.
• Support functional testing, SIT, UAT, and regression testing.
• Support quarterly upgrades, cutovers, and production readiness efforts.
• Proactively manage technical debt and drive platform improvements.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of overall IT experience, including 7+ years working with Oracle Fusion HCM.
• Proven experience as a Functional Technical Lead, Architect, or Technical Lead on Oracle HCM implementations.
• Strong functional expertise and hands on delivery experience across multiple HCM modules.
• Strong understanding of HR and Payroll data models and integration patterns.
• Experience working in global offshore-onshore delivery models.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Oracle HCM Cloud technical or functional certifications.
• Experience supporting large enterprise or global HCM implementations.
• Exposure to Agile / Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Experience with Redwood UX and modernization initiatives.
• Experience in regulated or audit heavy environments.
