Air General, a third-generation, family-owned, national cargo handling company, is seeking an Operations Supervisor at our Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) location.
Requirements include: domestic and international air cargo knowledge and experience, with a strong focus on customer service. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Organize, coordinate, and control all domestic contract handling services on behalf of the customer, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate and develop objectives and procedures to enhance the domestic cargo operation and promote the use of international flights.
  • Implement procedures designed to meet all customer targets and service requirements.
  • Ensure that handling services do not adversely affect the safe and punctual operation of the customer's domestic flight services.
  • Ensure all necessary training standards are achieved or exceeded.
  • Oversee comprehensive training plans for all employees.
  • Initiate directives and procedures, which will enhance service levels to the customer.
  • Meet regularly with other managers and supervisors to establish constant feedback and action plan for any improvements in service handling.
  • Take prompt corrective actions where service levels are not met.
  • Take the appropriate disciplinary action for breaches of safety, security, violations of company rules or service matters.
  • Administer the company rules of conduct in a fair and just manner.
  • Ensure all incidents or service complaints are fully investigated. Provide full and concise written reports.
  • Ensure all recommendations for service improvements are implemented.
  • Establish a protocol for the handling of employee and administrative matters with the objective of obtaining maximum effective employee performance.
  • Maintain and promote complete integrity of the domestic cargo and mail handling operation.
  • Develop responsible routines with customers and subordinates for handling services planning, control and feedback with particular emphasis on good communications with all parties and with the customer.
  • Adhere to all FAA, Airport, and Air General safety and security procedures, and immediately rectify any discrepancies.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the customer or Station Manager.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required - advanced degree preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid airport SIDA badge.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid and unexpired US Driver's license.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Candidates must possess some intermediate computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be able to clearly understand and communicate in English when performing essential job functions.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings, background checks, and airport/government security background checks, applicable Custom Security Seal, and post offer drug screens.
  • Be available to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced, high-noise environment, and meet deadlines.
  • Some travel may be required for airline specific training.

Schedule: 1:30pm - 10pm, Monday through Friday
