Job description


PURPOSE

Responsible to oversee employees assigned to the production areas. Performs all technical tasks required within the production areas. Provides assistance to management to achieve business goals.

General Requirements – Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures, Current Good Manufacturing Principles and Company Policies.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Manage the flow of the Center, including but not limited to managing employee breaks, and ensuring proper staff coverage in each area to help the flow of donor traffic
  • Cross-train in Reception, Vitals, Lab, and Phlebotomy (supervisors who are not trained as Phlebotomists will train in the donor room but will not perform venipunctures); fill in during breaks/shortages as needed
  • Supports the center management team in identifying operational opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Ensure that daily equipment maintenance and calibration activities are being performed as required in a timely manner
  • Assist with donor flow as required
  • Assist in resolving certain NexLynk problems that occur during the donation process
  • Monitor donation times to ensure they are in line with company expectations
  • Operate, maintain, and perform trouble-shooting of equipment (printers, replacing handhelds, and plasmapheresis machines) within the scope of training.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety rules as stated in the Employee Handbook and as otherwise posted or communicated.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or a minimum of one-year experience, preferably in a regulated industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to train, coach, observe and change the behavior of the staff is noncompliance is noticed.
  • Demonstrated work history of above average performance, customer service, understanding workflow, and attendance.
  • Current CPR Card
  • Certified in the Reception area, Donor Floor area, and Plasma Processing within 6 months of becoming an Operations Supervisor.
  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills appropriate for all interactions with employees and donors.
  • Must be flexible to work in an ever-changing and fast-paced work environment.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


Performing the responsibilities of the job requires regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, and to reach with the hands and arms. Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, or balance; and to stoop, kneel or crouch. May be required to walk and stand for entire work shifts. Ability to read and type while sitting in front of a computer for up to 4-hours at a time. Physically able to use and operate equipment used in assessing donor suitability as well as equipment used to harvest plasma. Manual dexterity to perform all phases of plasmapheresis. Ability to lift tug and pull up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and other conditions common to a donor center. Personal protective equipment required such as eyewear, lab coats, and gloves. May work in a walk-in freezer for short intervals of time (-20C or colder).
