ATI is seeking to hire an Operations Superintendent to support our Specialty Rolled Products business unit location in Vandergrift, PA.

The Operations Superintendent position is responsible for leading a team of salary and hourly employees in day-to-day operational activities for Coil Finishing. Production responsibilities include final Slitting, Shipping, Storeroom & Scrap operations at the Vandergrift Plant. This includes all aspects of safety, production demands, supply chain and personnel management. The position is instrumental with ensuringoptimal throughput and production efficiencies by developing and implementing cost effective processes and equipment utilization strategies that meet production goals and objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Create a zero-injury culture by building trust and reducing our tolerance for risk.
  • Directing, managing, and coordinating all operating responsibilities for the production assets with responsibility for safety, quality and productivity in a 24 x 7 operating environment.
  • Drive improvements in equipment reliability with direct involvement in all maintenance and automation activities.
  • Research, propose and implement improvements using Lean Manufacturing principles to improve safety, quality, efficiency, costs and meet performance goals.
  • Manage personnel including daily assignments, performance management, policy adherence and development.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers with intimate involvement in problem solving
  • Ensuring contract and personnel issues are handled uniformly throughout the department and working with local USW representatives to resolve grievances within the plant.
