The Delivery Manager is a hands-on leader who combines operational expertise with a commitment to employee engagement and continuous improvement. This role oversees all aspects of delivery operations-including routing, fleet management, and personnel development-ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency in product flow. While the Delivery Manager leads through others, they are expected to be actively engaged on the floor and in the field, supporting the team and solving problems alongside them when needed. This position requires someone who leads by example, develops talent, and drives performance across all facets of the operation.

Job Description:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop Delivery Supervisors, ensuring they effectively manage driver teams and execute operational priorities.
  • Build a culture of accountability, engagement, and trust across all delivery personnel.
  • Drive talent development and succession planning for supervisory and driver roles.

Operational Oversight

  • Own delivery operations strategy, including routing efficiency, fleet readiness, and compliance programs.
  • Monitor delivery schedules and KPIs to ensure timely, accurate, and safe deliveries.
  • Oversee fleet maintenance programs and ensure preventive maintenance compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by resolving discrepancies and issues promptly, ensuring a seamless and positive experience.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory laws, including DOT and OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety standards and JJ Keller documentation requirements.
  • Partner with warehouse and routing teams to optimize loading processes and delivery flow.

Performance & Metrics

  • Monitor KPIs related to on-time delivery, fleet utilization, inventory accuracy, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Use data to drive decisions, track progress, and communicate results to leadership.
  • Proactively address operational challenges and implement corrective actions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years proven experience in delivery or transportation management, including leadership of supervisors.
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations, fleet safety standards, and routing optimization.
  • Experience managing KPIs and operational metrics for delivery performance.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite; AS400 experience preferred.
