Job description

Looking for a reliable and self-motivated candidate that would be On-Call when there is a need for coverage our local accounts. Would be able to communicate effectively with many different types of people along with willing to perform multiple tasks. This is a great position for someone who is Retired and looking for something that is not full time.A Floater is a cross‑trained Office Services team member based in Washington DC who travels to the Northern VA regional sites to provide flexible coverage across mailroom, shipping/receiving, and general office support, ensuring consistent operations whenever staffing gaps or workload demands arise.Key Responsibilities:This position will be stationed in Washington, DC with travel to Northern, VA area whenever staffing gaps or workload demands arise.Handle all materials received in the Mail Center [receive, review, receipt, document, process, prepare, identify, separate, deliver, transport, etc.].• Deliver, pickup, and transport materials within, between, to, and from various departments. (Cover other accounts in the Va and DC Area)• Deliver office supplies. • Deliver witin the building and other locations.Collect data for reports• Ensures Customer Service area is always staffed and provide back up for call outs.• Maintains records and files• Must have good working knowledge of postal regulations• Must have good working knowledge of computer basics• Provide problem resolution• May deal with difficult or irate customer periodically• Ensures equipment is in good working order, equipment maintenance• Interfaces with the client contact when required• Keeps manager informed of operational efficiencies and potential problems• May be required to work overtime periodically• Able to set priorities• Must be flexible to adapt to changes• Must demonstrate leadership qualitiesQualifications:High School diploma or equivalent (GED).Must have reliable transportation to travel to various client sites• Minimum of 2 years Mail/Print services related experience preferred with knowledge of commonly used Office Services procedures.• 1-3 years experience with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, etc.).• Excellent customer service skills; must possess a "can do" attitude.• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.• Ability to effectively work individually or in a team environment.• Competency in performing multiple functional tasks.• Attention to detail.• Ability to handle mail or hand cart, as well as flatbed.• Must be able to lift up to 50+ pounds.
