Job Title: Temp, Marketing Strategy (Urban Music) (1-2 months)
A little bit about our team: The Marketing department at Warner Records is the strategic engine of the label. We don't just disseminate information; we architect the global trajectory of our artists. Our mission is to develop avenues for market penetration through rigorous research, creative disruption, and front-line campaign leadership. You will step into a high-octane environment, working alongside our A&R, Digital, Sync, and Commerce teams to ensure our Urban roster-spanning Hip-Hop, R&B, and Afrobeats-never misses a beat.
Your role: In this Temp Marketing Strategy role, you are the steady hand and the sharp mind keeping our priority campaigns on track. You'll act as the chief strategist for a diverse roster of emerging talent and global icons, ensuring that artistic visions are translated into commercial wins without delay. This role is about high-level execution and seamless transition; you'll be the primary liaison between management and the label, turning data and intuition into dominant market moves. It's fast-paced, high-stakes, and deeply creative-giving you the chance to leave your mark on the biggest sounds in culture today.
Here you'll get to:
  • Take the reins of existing 12-month marketing roadmaps, ensuring all milestones are met and strategies remain fluid and effective.
  • Act as the central hub for internal artist task forces, keeping Digital, Radio, and Publicity teams aligned and moving toward unified campaign goals.
  • Utilize audience analysis to identify and execute immediate growth strategies that expand artist reach and deepen global fandom.
  • Partner with Creative Services to maintain a consistent visual and narrative thread across all active consumer touchpoints.
  • Direct artist schedules for promotional visits, performances, and content shoots, ensuring every appearance maximizes cultural impact.
  • Analyze daily consumption data to pivot tactics mid-campaign, ensuring marketing spend is always working toward maximum ROI.
  • Maintain vital relationships with artist management and touring agents to keep the live and recorded music strategies in total sync.

About you:
  • You are a seasoned strategist with a deep, nuanced understanding of the Hip-Hop, R&B, and Afrobeats landscapes.
  • You have at least 8 years of senior-level marketing experience within a major record label or high-profile music management environment.
  • You enjoy the "plug-and-play" challenge, possessing the executive presence to earn the trust of artists and managers from day one.
  • You are passionate about data-backed creativity, knowing exactly how to use streaming analytics to justify a bold, disruptive creative move.
  • You will be a relentless problem-solver, capable of identifying bottlenecks in a campaign and clearing them with efficiency and tact.

We'd love it if you also had:
  • An extensive network of lifestyle, tech, and retail partners specifically within the Urban music space.
  • Global campaign experience, having navigated the complexities of breaking domestic artists in international territories.
  • Expertise in budget management for multi-million dollar global marketing funds.

As the home to 10K Projects, Asylum, Atlantic Music Group, East West, FFRR, Fueled by Ramen, Nonesuch, Parlophone, Rhino, Roadrunner, Sire, Warner Records, Warner Classics, and several other of the world's premier recording labels, Warner Music Group champions emerging artists and global superstars alike.
