You will join the Deal-Making & Services Strategy team, which leads global deal-making and services & support strategy for Microsoft's commercial portfolio. Deal-Making & Services Strategy team sits at the core of Monetization and Business Planning, translating growth goals into executable commercial outcomes. We design discounting frameworks, enable sellers to win competitive scenarios, and align monetization models & services with go-to-market execution.

We are looking for a strategic and analytical leader to join our organization as a Director of Business Planning. Responsibilities
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
  • Build and optimize business models for services that balance customer value, profitability, and competitive positioning. You will define monetization strategies, packaging, and pricing to drive attach, adoption, margin, and retention revenue.
  • Drive Microsoft partner monetization strategy, shaping services pricing and contracting models that scale with partners while preserving quality and long-term economics.
  • Create data-driven insights through a deep understanding of customer, product, and services to identify growth opportunities and inform investment decisions.
  • Partner across the broader Microsoft organization to develop strategic initiatives for growth on designing of products and offerings that accelerate adoption, deepen engagement, and maximize lifetime value for customers.
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of services to crystallize strategy, validate market insights with research and financial modeling, evaluate packaging strategies, price services and launch offers that customers and partners can buy.
  • Create executive-grade narratives with clear strategic recommendations to influence senior leadership direction; drive decisions and change management with key stakeholders & partners.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
  • 7+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications
  • 12+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field
    • OR 8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in CSP and/or Partner space

Business Planning IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
