Job description

Job Summary
The job of Library Assistant is done for the purpose/s of assisting in maintaining the library collection at school sites by implementing age-appropriate programs for students utilizing library resources; assisting in the circulation of library materials; assisting in the selection of appropriate items in support of classroom instruction; and assisting in the instruction of students on the proper use of the library resources.
Benefits:
• Health & Welfare Package: A variety of medical, dental, and vision plans are available for employees working 20 hours or more per week. The District provides up to $11,008.00 per year (based on the number of hours worked per week) to go towards the insurance cost.
• Employee Assistance Program: The program provides confidential employee support and is 100% covered by the District.
• Retirement: CalPERS pension for employees working 20 hours or more per week; additional retirement plans (403b and 457) are available to interested employees.
• Vacation Leave: Number of days determined by the number of hours worked per week (available to use after the probationary period).
• Sick Leave: Number of days determined by the number of hours worked per week
• Holidays: 14 paid holidays per year
• Longevity: Incentive provided to personnel with continuous service in the Castro Valley Unified School District starting at five (5) years.
