Job Summary:


Forgent Power is seeking a Materials Supervisor with Industry Technical Expertise. The ideal candidate would have experience and be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the flow of materials and inventory required to support production and operations. This role ensures materials are available when needed. The Materials Supervisor works closely with the Materials Manager, planning, purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to support efficient and uninterrupted operations.


This is a full-time, salaried, position. Typical working hours will be Monday โ€“ Friday with standard hours ranging from 7:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Additional working hours will be required dependent on the work load.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage material requirements to support production schedules
  • Oversee inventory control, including raw materials and WIP
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the material planning systems (EPICOR)
  • Monitor inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and physical inventories
  • Identify and implement inventory reduction and cost-saving initiatives
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and movement of materials
  • Manage and mentor materials and inventory staff
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and logistics teams
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare reports and KPIs related to inventory turns, shortages, and material costs

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, related field, or pertinent work experience
  • Minimum 7-10 yearsโ€™ experience in materials management, planning, or supply chain operations
  • ERP experience, preferably EPICOR, required
  • Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution Equipment preferred
  • Proven experience managing teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and Lean principles
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to pass background and drug test prior to employment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to accomplish daily tasks while managing through shifting priorities and ambiguity
  • Superior problem solving, project management and analytical skills

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

  • Office-based with regular interaction with the Manufacturing floor and 3PL warehouses.
  • This position requires the ability to sit, and bend or stand for extended periods of time.
  • May require after-hours availability to support operations.
