We have an immediate opening for a Millwright with a strong manufacturer in the Aiken, SC/Augusta area. This is a career opportunity!

Salary Range: 28/hr to 40/hr+ depending on experience, education and overall skill set.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Millwright to support capital projects, equipment recommissioning, startup activities, and ongoing maintenance operations. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical maintenance expertise, particularly with pumps, hydraulics, rotating equipment, laser alignment, and mechanical seals. The successful candidate will troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain industrial equipment while ensuring compliance with safety, GMP, environmental, and operational standards.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of mechanical maintenance experience, a strong understanding of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and the ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, equipment diagnostics, repairs, fabrication using machine shop tools, documentation through SAP and Microsoft applications, and supporting employee training initiatives. This position requires flexibility to work varying schedules during shutdowns and outages and the physical ability to perform demanding industrial maintenance tasks while wearing required PPE.

Key Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with hydraulics, pumps, rotating equipment, laser alignment, and mechanical seals.
  • Strong understanding of energy isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Ability to operate machine shop equipment including lathes, drill presses, and grinders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows applications and computerized maintenance systems (SAP experience preferred).
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and participate in leadership and training activities.
  • Commitment to safety, GMP compliance, environmental stewardship, and housekeeping standards.
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving materials, climbing stairs and ladders, and performing repetitive maintenance tasks.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including shift work during outages, shutdowns, and special projects.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems is an asset.
