Job description

Wyyerd Fiber is seeking a highly organized and driven Materials Management Supervisor to lead warehouse/yard operations supporting fiber infrastructure construction, network operations, and customer installations. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient receipt, control, distribution, and accuracy of materials and equipment required to support the continued expansion of one of the most advanced fiber-to-the-home/business networks in the market.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong materials management, logistics coordination, process improvement, and team collaboration skills who thrives in a fast-paced construction and operations environment.

Position Summary

The Materials Management Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse/yard operations within the Southeast Valley of the Phoenix market. This position partners closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, Field Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and external contractors to ensure materials are accurately received, stored, tracked, secured, and distributed to support network expansion and operational activities.

This role will focus on inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, warehouse organization, material flow optimization, vendor/contractor coordination, and continuous process improvement while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse & Inventory Management

  • Oversee all warehouse/yard operations including receiving, storage, issuance, returns, and transfers of materials and equipment.
  • Ensure accurate inventory transactions within materials management and inventory control systems.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor material levels and coordinate replenishment activities to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse/yard layout for maximum efficiency, safety, and accessibility.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials and equipment.

Logistics & Operational Support

  • Coordinate outgoing material requests and deliveries for internal teams and contractors.
  • Support construction, network operations, and customer installation teams with timely and accurate material fulfillment.
  • Track and manage material movements between warehouses, staging areas, and job sites.
  • Assist in managing fleet deliveries, shipping, receiving, and logistics coordination.

Process Improvement

  • Develop and improve warehouse procedures, inventory controls, and operational workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Maintain performance metrics related to inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and operational productivity.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and OSHA requirements.
  • Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
  • Support asset security and loss prevention initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of warehouse, materials management, logistics, or inventory control experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience using inventory management or ERP systems.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 40 lbs.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in telecommunications, fiber optics, construction, or utility industries preferred.
  • Knowledge of telecom construction materials and outside plant (OSP) equipment is a plus.
  • Experience with barcode scanning systems and cycle count programs.
  • OSHA or forklift certification preferred.
