Job description

Job Title: Warehouse/Materials Supervisor 1st Shift (6:30am-3:30pm M-F)

Department: Production Supervisors

Accountability: This Position Reports to the Warehouse/Materials Manager

Position Summary:

The Warehouse/Materials Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse, inventory, shipping, receiving, and material movement activities to ensure safe, accurate, efficient, and timely support of production operations. This role provides hands-on leadership to warehouse personnel, monitors workflow performance, maintains compliance with company procedures and safety requirements, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and communicates operational priorities and issues to the Warehouse/Materials Manager.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification, logistics training, or related coursework preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a warehouse, materials, logistics, inventory, manufacturing, or production support environment.
  • Minimum of one year of experience using ERP, inventory management, warehouse management, or related business software systems.
  • Prior supervisory, lead, or team coordination experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret work instructions, production documentation, inventory records, bills of material, and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to write clear instructions, reports, shift updates, and documentation, and to present information effectively to employees, peers, and management.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices required; familiarity with OSHA requirements preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English and communicate directions clearly to employess.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with company procedures and training requirements.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations related to inventory, quantities, measurements, and production support.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push or pull up to 1,200 lbs. with a manual rolling assist device.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, sit, and climb ladders for more than one hour at a time as job duties require.
  • Ability to work at heights of up to 20 feet when properly trained and authorized.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
