Job description

The Inbound Warehouse Supervisor owns the end-to-end inbound process, from carrier arrival through receiving, put-away, and intake inventory accuracy, to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate handling of products while fostering a strong, upbeat team culture that reflects Packer Fastener Swagger. This role is responsible for developing warehouse leads, driving operational excellence, and ensuring daily inbound activities run smoothly and effectively. The Inbound Warehouse Supervisor directly reports to the Warehouse Operations Manager and partners closely with Outbound Warehouse Supervisor to align warehouse strategy with company goals, champion continuous improvement, and maintain a facility that is clean, organized, and performance driven.

Primary Duties:

Daily Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop area leaders and their teams in alignment with Packer Fastener Swagger, cultivating an upbeat, cohesive culture that promotes collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage daily inbound throughput: dock scheduling, receiving accuracy, timely put-away, and dock-to-stock cycle time.
  • Ensure inbound inventory accuracy at intake, including correct quantities, locations, and item data in the system of record.
  • Plan and schedule inbound labor to match inbound volume.
  • Serve as the escalation point for inbound exceptions (carrier issues, damaged or short receipts, mislabeled product).
  • Coordinate with purchasing, vendors, and the global Value Add and Inventory Control teams on inbound flow.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and quality control standards by conducting regular cycle counts, audits, and inspections to ensure product integrity, minimize discrepancies, and uphold compliance with established storage and handling procedures.
  • Drive inventory effectiveness and operational efficiency by analyzing stock levels, identifying inbound process bottlenecks, and implementing improvements that optimize downstream workflows including fulfillment and replenishment activities.
  • Oversee the returns management process by executing established return procedures, assessing returned goods for condition and disposition, and ensuring timely processing to minimize financial impact and restore inventory availability.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Warehouse Operations Manager on all people-related matters, including recruitment, hiring, promotions, coaching, discipline, and performance improvement.
  • Champion warehouse safety by implementing and reinforcing safety processes.
  • Performs other related duties as needed.

Continuous Improvement

  • Implement and maintain standardized operational procedures for inbound activities.
  • Dedicate time each week to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and remove inbound bottlenecks that limit the department's ability to scale with company growth.
  • Partner with the Outbound Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Operations Manager on cross-functional improvement initiatives.
  • Build metrics, dashboards, and standard operating procedures that make inbound performance visible and repeatable.

Job Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse or distribution center operations, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Process-improvement mindset; comfortable analyzing data and standardizing workflows.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse processes.
  • Demonstrated success in driving performance metrics, process improvements, and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong, cohesive teams and foster an upbeat, positive work culture.
  • Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems (NetSuite) preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Must be able to obtain coverage through the company's auto insurance carrier according to the company Driver Safety Policy.
