Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Shift: M-F 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

About the job: The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all receiving operations across the companys. This role ensures that inbound materials are received, inspected, documented, labeled, stored, and distributed accurately and efficiently to support production and operational goals.The Receiving Supervisor partners closely with Purchasing, Inventory Control, Production, and Shipping teams to maintain inventory accuracy, improve material flow, and ensure timely availability of materials. This position plays a key role in driving warehouse organization, operational efficiency, process standardization, and continuous improvement while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise daily receiving operations, including unloading, inspection, documentation, labeling, storage, and movement of materials
- Ensure all inbound deliveries are accurately received, verified against purchase orders, and entered into inventory systems in a timely manner
- Develop, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures for receiving, material handling, storage, and inventory control
- Partner closely with Inventory Control, Purchasing, Production, and Shipping teams to ensure material availability and inventory accuracy
- Monitor inventory levels and material flow to support production schedules and operational requirements
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, receiving errors, and material shortages using structured problem-solving and root cause analysis techniques
- Maintain organized warehouse and storage areas that promote efficiency, safety, and inventory accuracy
- Lead and develop receiving personnel through training, coaching, performance management, and ongoing skill development
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality requirements, and safety standards throughout receiving operations
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, accuracy, and waste reduction
- Analyze receiving and inventory performance data to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence
- Coordinate material transfers and receiving activities across ASC facilities when necessary
- Collaborate with leadership to establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to receiving and inventory operations

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, receiving, or materials management within a manufacturing/industrial environment
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, warehouse operations, and material flow processes
- Experience using inventory management systems and ERP software; QuickBooks experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training preferred
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field preferred
