Job description

We have an incredible opportunity for a dynamic, energetic, and eager Receiving Supervisor in Des Plaines!

With our three business segments, Airline Catering, International Event Catering, Restaurants, Lounges & Hotels, we offer gourmet entertainment all over the world. We operate in 33 locations, 12 countries and 3 Continents, maintaining the highest standard of quality in both our products and services. We refine the classics, develop the unknown and grow constantly - sometimes beyond our own expectations.
Responsibilities:
  • Verify all received merchandise against invoices, purchase orders (POs), and bills of lading (BOLs).
  • Ensure all required receiving paperwork is complete and that products meet company quality standards.
  • Maintain full traceability by assigning internal Julian lot numbers to all inbound edible and ready-to-eat ingredients.
  • Break down received cases and label every individual component with the appropriate Julian/internal lot code.
  • Store products using First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures in all storage areas.
  • Properly organize inventory in dry storage, freezers, and designated coolers for meat (Halal and Non-Halal), fish, and produce.
  • Lead and supervise the receiving team while maintaining accurate records of all incoming goods.
  • Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery and compliance with company quality specifications.
  • Distribute merchandise internally according to food safety and storage requirements, ensuring all meat and fish deliveries are weighed.
  • Follow HACCP and all food safety standards, including FIFO, date marking, proper storage, and completion of receiving documentation, while performing other assigned duties.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with heavy workloads and prolonged standing.
  • Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials as required.
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to quality.
  • Comfortable working in hot and cold environments.
  • Flexible to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience in food industry receiving, storage, and merchandise handling.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.
