Job description

Interested in working on an innovative and high-impact business that is changing the way customers think about grocery? Amazon is looking for a talented Vendor Manager (VM) responsible for managing vendor relationships and setting the strategic direction for their business.
The ideal candidate possesses experience in buying, marketing, and/or finance, with a track record of successful relationship management, strong analytical acumen, and experience generating and managing reporting and analysis. Great communication skills and understanding of Excel will be essential to your success. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who will take ownership of projects and business problems to a successful result.
Key job responsibilities
Our environment is fast-paced, and requires someone who is flexible, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with multiple teams, vendors, partners, and management. On a day to day basis, you will:
Drive strategic negotiations with large vendors and represent Amazon when meeting with senior leaders
Develop long-term strategies and significantly influences cross-category plans
Work cross functionally, both within Amazon and the strategic vendor, and implement scalable, simple and automated solutions to address customer pain points
Create opportunities for growth, customer acquisition, and brand- building for multiple sub-categories
Audit metrics regularly, determine and prioritize business opportunities, identify risks and make recommendations to pursue
Identify industry trends and develop innovative marketing and merchandising initiatives to support growth
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
- 2+ years of market research analyst, product manager, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of doing one of several roles: quantitative/financial analysis, retail buying, retail planning & allocation, product/project management, pricing, marketing or e-commerce experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of doing one of several roles: management consulting, investment banking analyst/associate, or brand manager role at leading consumer packaged goods company experience
- Experience in financial analysis, retail buying, retail planning & allocation, product/project management, marketing, business development, consulting, negotiation or supply chain

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
