About the Role
The Checkers & Rally's brands were started 40 years ago from the idea that fast food could be done better. As a member of the Brand Marketing Team, this position is instrumental in bringing that vision to life.
The Assistant Product Marketing Manager plays a key role in identifying consumer insights, ideating to develop new product ideas, managing cross-functional projects, executing strategic marketing plans, and launching new products and platforms to drive brand relevance and sales growth.
Successful candidates will be passionate about the consumer, collaborative, and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
What You'll Do (Core Impact Areas)
  • Leads the planning and execution of ideations and product development projects in partnership with the R&D team and agency partner:
    • Leads the process of developing and presenting a relevant and inspiring presentation that will help guide the ideation or project. Partners with our Insights team and agency partner to select strategic inputs.
  • Crafts initial product descriptions and white paper concepts based on strategic insights for new product and value deals.
  • Develops briefs and other key documentation needed to support the product development process, testing and system launch.
  • Assists in the development + execution of annual strategic growth plans for all product and value platforms and other growth initiatives in support of the overall brand strategy.
  • Coordinates the timelines and processes associated with executing the product development and testing processes.
  • Assists in the insight-driven concept development of products and value propositions from testing to national rollout
  • Gathers key project inputs from key cross-functional partners such as R&D, Advertising, Field Marketing, Digital Marketing, Consumer Insights, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, IT and Agency Partners and track and report on progress.
  • Develops and maintains a database of all products in the development pipeline including details and stage.

What You Bring (Must-haves)
  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing or a related field
  • 3-5 years of marketing project management experience in retail, restaurant or consumer packaged goods is required

Work Environment & Essential Physical Requirements
  • Location: Tampa, FL - Hybrid
  • Travel Expectations: Occasional travel to company locations for on-site ER support, multi-site investigations, or HR team meetings; valid driver's license may be required.
  • Individual must live in the Tampa area and is required to be in the Restaurant Support Center or Innovation Center 3 days per week, at a minimum.
  • Ability to Travel for meetings, innovation sessions, photo shoots, etc.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods (4-6 hours/day) in a hybrid corporate or home office setting.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a corporate facility during in-office days, employee meetings, or multi-department coordination activities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, by phone, and via virtual platforms throughout the workday, including during sensitive or emotionally charged employee conversations.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of materials up to 20 lbs.
