B.L. Harbert International is looking for a Material Control Technician. This position is based in Birmingham, Alabama. Candidate will report to the Material Control Receiving Supervisor and Receiving Leadmen.

Responsibilities:

· Assure compliance with Supply Chain process quality control receiving standards to provide quality service that focuses on ensuring accuracy on each input transaction through efficient and effective process protocols to minimize and prevent mistakes to provide quality controlled output

· Document deliveries and receipts on, but not limited to, the MCO and HarDHAT applications for accurate data entry receipts and labeling

· Maintain good database information to monitor, track and generate reports

· Coordinate with the material control team in charge of quality assurance

· Create and document receipts of incoming orders

· Identify, address and communicate non-conforming materials and Overages, Shortages and Damages on Shipment Receipt’s with discrepancies to related personnel

· Perform material cycle counts, verification and package optimization and priority

· Collaborate with Material Control Coordinators on discrepancies or issues related to PO receipts and Invoices, returns and exchanges

· Walk the receiving and shipping floor to catch signs of mistakes (improper tagging, material mixed in rows, quarantined/hold, poor packaging, etc)

· Maintain safe and clean work environment by organizing the workplace, assigning a clean-up crew at the end of the day, stowing away tools and small equipment properly and complying and implementing the 5S methodology

· Perform general clerical duties including data entry, annotations, maintaining files and other records

· Maintain good communication and relationships with vendors and delivery companies

· Promote and maintain quality service by following B.L. Harbert’s Supply Chain processes, procedures and guides for proper operations execution

· Report any lessons learned or new operational techniques to Material Control Manager

· Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

· US citizen

· Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the US Government

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

· Physical wellness to include ability to perform the Physical Demands below, and medical clearance (FCE – Agility Test) certifying ability to perform these Physical Demands. The ability to perform these Physical Demands is an ongoing condition of employment, and employee consents as a condition of employment to re-test for medical clearance upon request, including but not limited to drug testing. Failure to pass all tests shall be grounds for immediate dismissal.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Ability to operate and handle power tools, hand tools, pallet jack, forklift

· Knowledge of tools, construction materials and equipment

· Knowledge of supply chain common practices – receiving, inventory control, storing, issuing

· Ability to adapt to changing technologies and process protocols

· Ability to carry out work through oral and/or written instructions, with little to no supervision

· Ability to lift packages up to 70 pounds

· Basic math skills

· Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety practices and procedures

Physical Demands:

To perform the duties of this job, the employee must:

· Have the ability to repetitively use hands to grasp, reach above and below with arms, and work overhead

· Have the ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, bend, balance and twist for extended periods

· Have the ability to frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 75 lbs.

· Possess the manual dexterity to utilize and operate construction tools and/or construction equipment and machinery

· Possess physical agility and mobility, to include safely maneuvering throughout the job site
