  • Final summary report showing completed improvements and future opportunities

Project 2: Facility Chemical Audit and SDS Database Update

Objective: The intern will complete a full chemical audit of the glass manufacturing facility and support the verification and update of the company’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database. The goal is to ensure that chemicals on-site are accurately inventoried, properly identified, and matched to current SDS records to support hazard communication and regulatory compliance.

Scope and Responsibilities: The intern will conduct a room-by-room and department-by-department review of chemicals used, stored, or staged throughout the facility. Responsibilities may include recording product names, manufacturers, container sizes, use locations, and storage conditions; identifying missing, outdated, or duplicate SDS records; coordinating with department leaders to verify active products; and organizing information for upload or correction in the company SDS system.
