Southern Glazer's offers a competitive compensation package with expected first year total earnings between $85000 - $115000 / year plus bonus opportunity. This salary range is an average range for this position. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.

Overview

The Manager, Market Development is responsible for driving strategic market expansion and building a strong commercial foundation in targeted growth territories. This role focuses on developing supplier partnerships, identifying high-value on- and off-premise opportunities, and establishing meaningful relationships with key decision-makers to expand brand distribution and market presence.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Identify and execute strategies to expand distribution in new and underpenetrated markets
  • Target and open priority on-premise and off-premise accounts to drive brand presence
  • Develop territory-level plans to accelerate market penetration and share growth
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with supplier partners to align on growth priorities
  • Establish and strengthen connections with key buyers, ownership groups, and decision-makers
  • Serve as a trusted partner to both suppliers and customers, ensuring consistent communication and alignment
  • Drive new product distribution and placement across priority accounts
  • Identify high-value placement opportunities (e.g., menu listings, features, displays)
  • Partner with Sales and Trade Development teams to ensure consistent execution of brand strategies
  • Analyze local market trends, competitor activity, and customer dynamics to identify opportunities
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimize market strategy
  • Monitor and track performance against key objectives and KPIs
  • Develop and deliver regular business updates, insights, and performance reporting to senior leadership
  • Ensure visibility into progress, opportunities, and risks within the market
  • Maintain accountability through clear tracking of outcomes and deliverables
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management
  • Proven ability to build relationships and drive results in a competitive market
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a territory or market
  • Experience in the beverage alcohol industry or CPG environment
  • Knowledge of on-premise and off-premise sales channels
  • Experience working with supplier partners and trade development teams
