Job description

Company Overview
Metrea delivers effects-as-a-service to national security partners across five domains and more than a dozen mission areas-including airborne ISR, electronic warfare, secure communications, aerial refueling, special mission aviation, aerial firefighting, and advanced simulation.
Wherever we operate, we build vertically integrated full stacks of capability-designing, building, and operating turnkey solutions that let customers scale capacity while benefiting from continuous cycles of innovation. With operators and engineers under one roof, we close the gap between lab and field-what we call connecting design with effect.
Metrea's solutions are built for elegance: effective, efficient, and evolving. This approach enables our partners to do more with less and achieve outsized, asymmetric advantage against rapidly evolving threats.
Headquartered in Washington, DC, Metrea has facilities across the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and beyond.
Group Overview
Air Mobility Group (AIRMOB) is responsible for developing and delivering Metrea's aerial refueling (AAR) capabilities, ensuring the readiness and operational effectiveness of the tanker fleet. AIRMOB oversees fleet management, maintenance, and airworthiness, working to sustain and enhance refueling operations. It manages the integration of new processes and technologies, ensuring that tanker aircraft remain mission-ready through effective logistics, maintenance oversight, and regulatory compliance. By coordinating across various teams, AIRMOB ensures the fleet meets both current and future operational needs, supporting a range of specialized air mobility missions.
Position Summary
In this role, you will lead and oversee AIRMOB's maintenance records management program, ensuring every maintenance event is captured accurately and completely in AMOS. You will manage the records team, drive compliance with FAA documentation standards, and serve as the organization's primary authority on records integrity for the aerial refueling fleet. You will be successful if you are detail-oriented, systematic in your approach, and thrive in a regulated environment where documentation quality directly supports airworthiness.
What You'll Do
  • Supervise and manage the maintenance records team, providing daily guidance, training, and performance oversight
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all maintenance activities in AMOS
  • Review and approve maintenance work packages, log entries, and technical records before release
  • Perform comprehensive records audits to verify completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance
  • Identify documentation discrepancies and implement corrective actions with affected departments
  • Develop and maintain records management procedures, standards, and best practices
  • Serve as AMOS super-user for records management functions and provide system training to staff
  • Ensure compliance with FAA record-keeping requirements and retention policies
  • Oversee component traceability documentation and life-limited parts tracking
  • Lead root cause analysis for records-related findings and non-conformances
What You'll Bring
Must Haves
  • Associate's degree in aviation management, business, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in aircraft maintenance records management
  • At least 2 years of management or team lead experience
  • Expert proficiency in AMOS or a comparable maintenance tracking system
  • Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations including Parts 43, 91, and 121 record-keeping requirements
  • Experience with maintenance records auditing and quality control processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interpret technical manuals and regulatory requirements
Nice to Haves
  • Advanced AMOS user experience
  • A&P license
  • Experience with military or commercial aircraft records management
  • Knowledge of KC-135 or Boeing 707 derivative aircraft documentation
  • Experience with Part 121 or Part 135 record-keeping requirements
  • Familiarity with CASS and reliability program documentation
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Experience with experimental exhibition or special flight permit operations preferred
  • Familiarity with DCMA requirements and military maintenance documentation standards a plus
  • Experience with aircraft lease transitions and records packages
  • Experience implementing paperless or digital records management systems
