This role sits within the Special Air Missions Group area of Metrea Special Air Missions Group (SAM) is responsible for developing and delivering Metrea’s Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Special Mobility, and Aerial Firefighting (AFF) capabilities. SAM oversees the integration of new mission systems, ensuring operational readiness across specialized aviation operations. It manages fleet maintenance, regulatory compliance, and strategic partnerships to enhance mission effectiveness. By consolidating expertise and infrastructure, SAM ensures Metrea’s airborne capabilities remain adaptable and mission-ready across dynamic operational environments.

Position Summary

The Senior Technical Records Manager oversees the management, accuracy, and integrity of all aircraft technical and maintenance records across the fleet. This role ensures compliance with FAA, EASA, and company recordkeeping requirements, leads a team of records specialists/auditors, and establishes robust processes for documentation, retention, and audits. The Technical Records Manager partners closely with the Quality and Maintenance teams to maintain the airworthiness documentation and traceability of all aircraft assets.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage the Technical Records team responsible for aircraft maintenance documentation and auditing functions.
  • Develop and maintain company procedures for aircraft recordkeeping in compliance with FAA, EASA, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all maintenance documentation, including logbooks, work orders, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and modification records.
  • Oversee the digital and physical archiving of aircraft records; ensure proper retention, accessibility, and security.
  • Manage system administration and transition efforts for electronic recordkeeping platforms (Veryon, AMOS, FL3XX).
  • Review and resolve audit findings with corrective actions to ensure record integrity and work on continuous improvement of record keeping.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Planning and Quality to ensure aircraft status, time-controlled components, and inspection programs are properly documented.
  • Support aircraft deliveries, returns, and transitions by ensuring all technical records meet regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver management reports on records accuracy, audit results, and compliance metrics. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback to the Technical Records team.

What You’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance management or a related field preferred, or a minimum of 5 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate required; Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing or auditing aircraft maintenance documentation.
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft maintenance manuals, regulatory standards (FAA Part 43/91/135/145), and recordkeeping requirements.
