Job description

SUMMARY: As the Director of Technical Records, you will provide the ultimate decision making and Finale oversight of Technical consultative services. The Aircraft Group provides technical support to aircraft lessors, aircraft & engine asset traders, banks/financial institutions, and operators via a full range of aircraft lease and asset management technical services. The position will interact with and integrate multiple 3rd party technical service providers to provide a comprehensive service offering that fulfils all requirements of a particular project by way of offering a single point of contact for complex whole asset (aircraft and engine) technical projects. As the lead point of contact for technical matters, you will anticipate the client's needs, work with the assigned project team and the company to drive project success and customer satisfaction. By leveraging your technical acumen, suggest innovative solutions that serve the clients and TAG's best interests, a promote a better consciousness of potential company-Wide technical synergies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide final technical direction on business decisions and execution of all technical projects and integration of 3rd party services as required to provide complete project coverage related to aircraft, engine, and engineering services.
  • Possess an in-depth conceptual understanding of the current aerospace technical industry inclusive of regulatory matters of local and foreign government authorities, continuous airworthiness maintenance programs, aircraft physical and records inspections, engine trend monitoring, engine LLP limits, engine work scope management, major alterations, repairs, STC implementation and engineering orders, ADs (airworthiness directives), airline operations, aircraft leasing and trading environment
  • Awareness of external competition who work in similar areas and keep up to date with the overall industry changes
  • Must have the ability to prioritize competing deadlines, remain focused and self-motivated within a remote environment
  • Technical proficiency required for oversight of maintenance activities of both aircraft and engines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Software, Excel, and Word and with Adobe Software, working with PDF(s), experience with OCR processing practices.
  • Expert in working within ShareFile and other common file-sharing applications and software
  • A&P, other FAA certifications a plus
  • Competency in a foreign language a plus

  • Define project responsibilities to maintain project time frames, budget estimates and provide status reports
  • Participate in how budget and staff are allocated for the project.
  • Create budget and business case for TAG to add CAMO capabilities determining if potential business growth justifies the cost, and if implemented, provide complete oversight of company's CAMO development and deployment
  • From time to time and as required, perform physical inspections on client's assets at various locations/airports, potentially internationally
  • ensure correctness and completeness of the final product prior to presentation to the client
  • Leverage technical acumen to suggest solutions to technical representatives while they are on assignment and monitor the proper execution of such guidance
  • Provide direction and oversight on projects and of technical representatives while they are on assignment to include identifying and contracting the best technical representative for any given project, leveraging your technical acumen as the subject matter expert to suggest innovative solutions that serve the clients and TAG's best interests
  • Training TAG'S core technical representatives to ensure they have and can use all the tools/templates TAG and/or its clients utilizes TAG and Client(s) company policies
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant/technical work experience and 7-9 years of leadership experience
    • or additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must be highly detail oriented and driven to meet tight deadlines under pressure.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 15 Years: Experience with Aircraft and Engine Maintenance Programs and related documentation and could adapt quickly to new databases and systems
  • Minimum of 10 Years: Knowledge and familiarity with Maintenance Manuals, Logbooks, IPC(s), Service Bulletins and Service Letters, Airworthiness Directives, and other industry standard documentation
  • Minimum of 10 Years: Knowledge and proficiency in navigating Federal Aviation Regulations, Advisory Circulars, other industry-standard statutory entities practices, procedures, and related documentation
