STS Technical Services is hiring a Records Specialist in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Hiring Note: All candidates must currently be authorized to work in the United States.
Position Summary
STS Technical Services is seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Records Specialist to support a fast-paced Maintenance QC Records team in Ypsilanti, Michigan. This role is critical to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of aircraft maintenance documentation within a regulated MRO environment.
The ideal candidate thrives in high-volume workflows, manages multiple priorities with precision, and understands the importance of clean, audit-ready records. You will work closely with maintenance teams and internal departments to ensure all documentation is processed accurately and aligned with FAA requirements.
Job Responsibilities

  • Perform high-volume data entry into AMOS, generating system entries to reflect maintenance actions and correcting discrepancies as needed
  • Audit physical and digital maintenance records using Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and internal systems to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company standards
  • Maintain professional communication with mechanics, maintenance stations, and internal teams via email and internal platforms
  • Monitor incoming maintenance documentation and verify completeness and accuracy against work performed
  • Retrieve and provide maintenance records to support internal teams and audit requests
  • Ensure proper digital archiving and secure handling of all documentation in accordance with retention policies
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate and accessible records
  • Assist with continuous improvement efforts related to documentation processes
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by QC Records leadership
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in office administration or a similar role
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with shifting priorities
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with AMOS or similar MRO systems preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of data entry accuracy
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance personnel and cross-functional teams
  • Prior experience in aviation maintenance, technical records, or FAA documentation preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds when required
