Job description

IT Recruiter | New York, NY | Hybrid

The Role

EqualAccess is a talent and management consulting firm that partners with clients across technology and property management to place mid-to-senior level professionals. We work on retained and contingency searches, and our recruiters are expected to own the work, not coordinate around it.

This role is for someone early in their recruiting career who already has the instincts: you read people quickly, you build trust naturally, and you find sales and relationship-building genuinely energizing rather than exhausting. You will own full-cycle searches across technical disciplines, manage client relationships directly, and be expected to close. There is real mentorship and collaboration here, but the ramp is short and the expectations are clear.

This is not an internal talent acquisition role, and it is not a coordination job. You will be on the phone, building pipelines, and participating in live searches within your first weeks.

What This Role Is, and Is Not

This role is:

  • A full-cycle, billable recruiting position with real ownership of client relationships and searches
  • An opportunity to build genuine expertise in technology talent markets
  • Performance-driven, with clear expectations and meaningful room for growth based on results
  • A collaborative environment with coaching and mentorship built in

This role is NOT:

  • An internal HR or talent acquisition position
  • A fit for someone who needs extensive direction before picking up the phone
  • A slow ramp. Pipeline-building and live search participation start in your first weeks
  • A fit for someone who finds sales, networking, and business development draining

Required Experience & Traits

  • 1+ years of agency recruiting experience, ideally supporting technical or IT positions
  • Experience recruiting across one or more of the following: Software Engineering, Infrastructure, Cloud, Cybersecurity, DevOps, Data, Product, or ERP
  • Exposure to sales, account management, or another client-facing role is a meaningful advantage
  • Comfortable discussing technical skill sets and translating hiring manager requirements into practical search strategies
  • Skilled at uncovering candidate motivations and evaluating fit beyond what is on the résumé
  • Strong communicator across phone, email, video, and in-person, with the ability to adapt your style to the audience
  • Organized enough to manage multiple searches, pipelines, interviews, and client priorities at the same time
  • Proficient with LinkedIn Recruiter, an ATS, and modern sourcing methods
  • A degree is not required. Demonstrated track record matters more.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Sourcing & Pipeline

  • Source, screen, and evaluate active and passive candidates for technical and professional roles across technology and property management
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines so every new search begins with an existing network, not a blank slate
  • Conduct consultative interviews that assess technical background, career goals, and cultural fit, not simply résumé alignment

Client Partnership

  • Build trusted relationships with clients, developing a working understanding of their business, hiring goals, and culture
  • Partner with hiring managers to define technical requirements, set realistic expectations, and shape hiring strategy
  • Bring market intelligence, compensation benchmarks, and talent availability insights to client conversations so you are a strategic partner, not just a vendor

Search Execution

  • Develop customized sourcing strategies for each engagement using LinkedIn Recruiter, referrals, networking, database searches, and direct outreach
  • Manage the full recruiting lifecycle from intake through offer acceptance, keeping clients and candidates informed and engaged at every stage
  • Adjust strategies based on market conditions and search performance as you go

Offer Management & Closing

  • Lead offer negotiations, balancing candidate expectations with client objectives
  • Manage the closing process proactively, identifying and resolving potential obstacles before they affect the hire
  • Maintain strong candidate relationships through onboarding to support successful, lasting placements

Market Awareness & Reporting

  • Stay current on hiring trends, compensation, and talent availability within technology and property management
  • Maintain accurate candidate and client records in the ATS and CRM
  • Keep pipeline reporting and search progress organized and up to date

Compensation: $55,000 - $60,000 plus commission

Why EqualAccess

EqualAccess partners with best-in-class organizations and supports candidates beyond placement. Every candidate we place receives 3 months of post-hire coaching and career support, ensuring long-term success and growth.
