ROLE PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY
The role of the System Support Specialist is to ensure product integrity and data integrity are preserved through proactive involvement in all IT systems. Support plant and office personnel on IT Systems for Quality, Production, Engineering, Inventory, and Logistics. Work with company employees to support computer systems and provide training with regard to IT systems. Identify and help to implement improvements. Function as an information source to various departments to continuously improve IT system efficiencies. Support the IT team on special department projects as required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • ERP/MRP system support and plant personnel training Understand ERP/MRP system functions
  • Train floor personnel to properly use system to ensure data integrity
  • Assess and resolve manufacturing floor issues and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Systems support of MRP System reporting, material management, scrap loss, production reporting, labor reporting and efficiency reporting
  • Maintenance management system administration
  • Quality and Training management system administration
  • Production workstation support and administration
  • Network hardware support and administration
  • Provide assistance in the use of workstation hardware and software for company employees
  • Assist with setup and configuration of workstation computers, peripherals
  • Assist in development of IT asset management systems to track hardware, software, antivirus and security systems
  • Follow and help improve standard operating procedures pertaining to IT Systems, MRP system, maintenance system and Quality reporting systems

QUALIFICATIONS/ CAPABILITY PROFILE
Minimum Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field - preferred

Minimum Experience
  • 1-3 years' experience with computers, software, hardware and IT support
  • Experience with administration of ERP/MRP systems

Minimum Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
  • Knowledge of the practices, principles, and techniques of computer operation; of information systems; of computer software and hardware; of information security policies and procedures; of local and wide area networks; and the management of information systems
  • Skilled in the use and support of personal computers, in the use of applicable programs and systems, and in troubleshooting information systems
  • Ability to operate information technology systems and to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work well with people over the phone and explain technical steps in non-technical terms
  • Attention to detail, and ability to prioritize, work as part of a team and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
