Senior Network Engineer
Intelligent Protection Management (IPM) provides a comprehensive approach to cloud security, designed to ensure all cloud-based resources are secure, compliant, and resilient against threats. From strategy to execution, we develop IT solutions that fit our customers business needs.
As a Senior Network Administrator Contractor, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, scalable network infrastructures across multiple client environments. This hands-on position demands a proactive mindset, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to manage diverse network ecosystems—from small business setups to complex enterprise-grade systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve network and voice-related issues across client environments, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support 24/7 client operations
  • Maintain and enhance network monitoring tools to ensure real-time visibility and alerting
  • Coordinate new circuit installations, testing, and handoff with ISPs and telecom providers
  • Design and implement wired/wireless infrastructure across client sites, including remote offices and data centers
  • Lead network upgrade initiatives—planning, testing, and deploying enhancements with minimal disruption
  • Manage and execute network tasks in high-availability, time-sensitive environments
  • Administer WAN, LAN, WLAN, and VoIP systems, including MPLS, IPsec VPNs, and various internet access technologies (Cable, DSL, Metro Ethernet)
  • Document network configurations, diagrams (Visio), SOPs, and implementation plans for internal and client use
  • Adhere to change management protocols and incident response procedures for all network activities
  • Provide firewall support and configuration (Fortigate, SonicWall) across client networks
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and telecom/network carriers to resolve service issues and coordinate upgrades
  • Manage multiple concurrent network projects, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction
  • Act as a subject matter expert for all network-related inquiries within the MSP team

Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-tenant network projects from planning to execution
  • Advanced experience with Fortigate, SonicWall, and FortiManager platforms
  • Expertise in switching technologies
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in both solo and collaborative settings
  • Prior experience in an MSP environment is highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration and client communication
  • Understanding of diverse access technologies: Cellular, Wired/Wireless, Cable, DSL, T1, Metro Ethernet
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks across multiple clients and projects

Why IPM?
  • Supportive, inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives
  • Remote work flexibility within the United States
  • Join Us, IPM is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
