The NOC Analyst I will play a key role in monitoring and supporting the network infrastructure and services to ensure optimal performance and availability. You will be responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving network-related issues while collaborating with other teams to maintain a seamless and secure network environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Network Monitoring:
    • Monitor network devices, servers, and services through NOC monitoring tools to ensure continuous and optimal performance.
    • Proactively identify network issues, service disruptions, and outages, and escalate to higher-level teams if necessary.
    • Track network performance metrics and log incidents for resolution and reporting.
  2. Incident Management:
    • Respond to and resolve network alarms, alerts, and incidents in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot network connectivity issues, outages, and performance problems.
    • Escalate unresolved issues or complex incidents to senior engineers or appropriate teams.
  3. Troubleshooting and Support:
    • Provide first-level troubleshooting for network hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
    • Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve hardware failures and software glitches.
    • Perform routine checks on network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
  4. Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed incident logs, including troubleshooting steps and resolution timelines.
    • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly network performance reports to the NOC Supervisor.
    • Create and update troubleshooting documentation and knowledge base articles.
  5. Collaboration & Communication:
    • Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., Systems, Security, and Infrastructure) to ensure network issues are resolved effectively.
    • Communicate network status updates to internal teams and customers as necessary.
    • Work effectively within a team environment to achieve operational goals.
  6. Maintenance & Routine Tasks:
    • Assist in scheduled maintenance, network upgrades, and configuration changes under guidance.
    • Perform basic network device configuration and firmware updates as directed by senior NOC analysts or engineers.
  7. Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated on industry best practices, network technologies, and tools.
    • Suggest improvements to monitoring processes, procedures, and tools.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience in network monitoring, IT support, or related technical roles.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
  • Understanding of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) and protocols.
  • Knowledge of common operating systems (Linux, Windows, etc.) and networking troubleshooting tools (ping, traceroute, etc.).
  • Basic familiarity with network management systems and network monitoring software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Understand critical milestones that drive operational excellence.
  • Shift-based work including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on the NOC coverage schedule and on-call availability as required by operational needs.
  • Basic technical knowledge.
  • Proficiency in the use of a computer, and software applications including Microsoft Office.

  • Highly organized and attentive to detail, with the ability to work on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously (multi-task).
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with personnel at all levels, both within and outside the company.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with MikroTik
  • Experience with Ruckus
  • Experience with managed WiFi networks.
  • CompTIA Network+ certification or similar networking certifications.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking and related technologies.
