Overview
Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently is seeking a Network Technician to support the IT program at a major national laboratory.
The responsbility of a Network Technician is to analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), cloud networks, servers, and other data communications networks. Perform network maintenance to ensure optimal operation with minimal interruptions. Design and implement computer and information networks, such as LANs, WANs, intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks. Conduct network modeling, analysis, and planning, including assessing capacity needs for network infrastructures. Design network and computer security measures to protect data and ensure network integrity. Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software solutions to enhance network performance and security.
Qualifications
Network Technician I:
  • High School Degree and 3 years related experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain U.S. Department of Energy security clearance

Network Technician II:
  • High School Degree and 5 years related experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain U.S. Department of Energy security clearance

Network Technician III:
  • AA/AS Degree and 3 years related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, an additional 3 years of relevant experience is needed, totaling 6 years.
  • U.S. citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain U.S. Department of Energy security clearance

Network Technician IV:
  • BA/BS Degree and 3 years related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, an additional 3 years of relevant experience is needed, totaling 9 years.
  • U.S. citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain U.S. Department of Energy security clearance
