The NOC Engineer is a hands-on technical role focused on supporting and improving the operational health of NoTraffic deployments across North America.

This position serves as a senior technical resource within the NOC, driving incident resolution, deployment support, automation initiatives, and operational excellence.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, improving operational processes, building scalable solutions, and collaborating across engineering, product, and operations teams.

Your day to day will look like:

  • Own and support the end-to-end installation and validation process for NoTraffic deployments.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for operational and technical incidents.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues across hardware, software, networking, and system integrations.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts and drive corrective actions for major incidents.
  • Identify recurring operational issues and partner with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Drive automation initiatives that improve monitoring, alerting, ticket quality, and operational workflows.
  • Partner with Engineering teams to develop and enhance internal NOC tools and processes.
  • Create and maintain installation procedures, troubleshooting guides, knowledge base content, and operational documentation.
  • Train operators and support team members on tools, processes, and best practices.
  • Support a 24/7 operational environment through participation in an on-call rotation.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving issues in production environments.
  • 2+ years of Linux administration experience in production environments.
  • 2+ years of networking experience, including monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Have experience with log analysis, monitoring, observability tools, and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Have experience working with APIs, system integrations, and operational tooling.
  • Have experience in a NOC, SOC, IT Operations, Technical Support, Site Reliability, or similar operational environment.
  • Can clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Enjoy solving complex technical problems while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of your work.
  • Are willing to participate in an on-call rotation supporting a 24/7 operation.
  • Have experience with ServiceNow and familiarity with ITIL principles and service management practices.
  • Have experience supporting IoT, infrastructure, transportation technology, or smart city environments and/or hold relevant certifications in IT, networking, or systems administration.
