Program Manager

Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, 2002 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX  |  Full-Time | 2,080 hrs/year | Standard business-hours shift

Position Overview

We are seeking a Program Manager to lead Facilities Management program support at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX. This role provides overall program management for facilities and capital/renovation efforts across a 23-FTE multidisciplinary team, aligning activities with VA strategic goals and medical center priorities.

Key Responsibilities

●       Provide overall program management support for Facilities Management and associated capital/renovation efforts, aligning activities with VA strategic goals and medical center priorities.

●       Develop, maintain, and update service contracts, work plans, and milestones for the project portfolio covered under this task order.

●       Track performance metrics, prepare recurring program status reports, and support briefings for senior leadership, including risk, issue, and action-item tracking.

●       Coordinate contractor resources across tasks, ensure adherence to contract requirements, and support CORs and Government managers with data, analysis, and documentation.

●       Maintain dependencies and critical path; update the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) regularly to reflect actual progress and changes.

●       Plan and run recurring status/coordination meetings with Facilities Management, COR, Contracting, Safety, and clinical stakeholders; ensure timely communication of outages and major risk items.

Qualifications & Experience

●       Current PMP Certification required.

●       Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.

●       Facilities management or construction program experience.

●       Staffing, scheduling, risk management, and reporting experience.

●       Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and Government contracts.

●       English proficiency (read/write/speak); resume demonstrating relevant experience with supporting licenses/certifications.

●       Must meet VA training requirements, pass OIG exclusion screening, and meet healthcare facility immunization/infection-control requirements.

Compensation

$83–$93/hour, depending on experience and certifications. Local hourly bill rate — Houston, TX market.
