Salary: $180,000–$210,000/yr. Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Intelligent Automation Developer to support automation initiatives within a classified Intelligence Community environment. This role focuses on designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining robotic process automation (RPA) and AI-enabled automation solutions that streamline mission-critical workflows and improve operational efficiency. While strong UiPath experience is preferred, candidates with broader automation engineering experience using similar RPA platforms and emerging AI automation toolsets are also encouraged to apply. The environment is expected to evolve rapidly into leveraging AI-driven technologies and cloud-based intelligent automation capabilities, including platforms such as AWS Bedrock and related AI services. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building and supporting unattended automations in production environments, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to rapidly evolving automation and AI technologies. This role requires close collaboration with technical teams, stakeholders, and operations personnel to deliver scalable automation solutions across secure environments. Responsibilities Automation Development & Deployment - Design, develop, test, and deploy UiPath and intelligent automation solutions supporting Intelligence Community business processes
- Build attended and unattended automations using UiPath Studio, REFramework, and related automation technologies
- Translate Process Design Documents (PDDs) into scalable, reliable automation workflows
- Develop automation and AI-assisted solutions that reduce manual workload and improve operational efficiency
- Support expansion into AI-enabled workflows, orchestration, and intelligent process automation capabilities AI & Emerging Technology Integration - Support integration of AI-driven services and automation platforms, including technologies such as AWS Bedrock and related AI toolsets
- Evaluate and implement intelligent automation capabilities including document processing, workflow augmentation, and data extraction
- Assist in identifying opportunities to incorporate AI into operational workflows and automation strategies Systems Integration & Technical Support - Integrate automation solutions with enterprise and legacy systems including SharePoint, ServiceNow, APIs, mainframes, and classified web applications
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain bots and automation services within UiPath Orchestrator and related platforms
- Diagnose automation failures, optimize performance, and implement enhancements
Support automation operations across classified environments Documentation & Collaboration - Develop and maintain technical documentation including solution designs, architecture diagrams, operational runbooks, and AI workflow documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum environments to support sprint planning and delivery schedules
- Contribute to continuous improvement of automation processes, AI integration practices, and development standards Process & Quality Support - Ensure automation solutions align with operational requirements and security standards
- Maintain organized documentation and reusable automation components
- Support quality assurance efforts through testing, validation, and peer reviews
- Format documentation and workflows to improve readability, maintainability, and scalability Requirements Minimum Qualifications - Active TS/SCI clearance required
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with UiPath, intelligent automation platforms, or similar RPA/AI automation technologies
- Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining unattended automations in production environments
- Experience with alternative automation platforms or AI-enabled workflow tools strongly considered
- Experience with VB.Net, C#, or Python for scripting and automation development
- Working knowledge of SQL for automation-related data manipulation
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve automation issues
- Ability to create clear and organized technical documentation
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments
- Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
- Ability to work on-site in Reston, VA, with occasional/ad hoc support at National Harbor, MD. Preferred Qualifications - UiPath Advanced RPA Developer Certification (UiARD)
- Experience with UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, and REFramework
- Exposure to AI integration, intelligent document processing, workflow orchestration, or generative AI technologies
- Experience with UiPath AI Center, Document Understanding, or Process Mining
- Experience with AWS Bedrock or other AI/LLM platforms
- Python experience for data processing, AI integration, and automation support tasks
- Prior experience supporting the Department of War (DOW) or Intelligence Community environments
- Familiarity with NIST 800-53 security standards and automation compliance considerations
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs into automation workflows
