Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Senior Technical Business Analyst to drive technology delivery, systems analysis, and business transformation initiatives across the Acquisitions, Marketing, and Risk portfolios supporting the U.S. Consumer Credit Cards business.
This role plays a critical part in enabling business growth, risk management, regulatory compliance, customer acquisition, and digital transformation initiatives through the delivery of scalable, secure, and innovative technology solutions. As demand and portfolio complexity continue to increase, this position serves as a key technology and business partner responsible for bridging strategic business objectives with technical execution.
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor and liaison across Product, Business, Technology, Architecture, Operations, Data, Risk, and Vendor teams to ensure business needs are translated into well-defined solutions that drive measurable business value. This individual will leverage deep expertise in application development, systems analysis, business analysis, data integration, and technology delivery to guide initiatives from concept through implementation and post-production adoption.
This role requires a unique combination of technical expertise, business acumen, analytical problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder management skills to successfully navigate a highly complex environment with multiple priorities, dependencies, and regulatory considerations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Technology & Business Partnership
  • Partner closely with business leaders, product owners, technology teams, architects, and operational stakeholders to align technology investments with strategic business priorities.
  • Support the delivery of initiatives that improve customer acquisition, customer engagement, marketing effectiveness, credit risk management, and operational efficiency.
  • Translate strategic business goals into actionable technology roadmaps, requirements, and implementation plans.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology leadership by providing insights, recommendations, and solution alternatives that balance business value, risk, cost, and technical feasibility.
  • Participate in portfolio planning, investment prioritization, capacity planning, roadmap development, and strategic technology discussions.

Business Analysis & Requirements Leadership
  • Lead the discovery, analysis, documentation, and validation of complex business, functional, technical, data, and non-functional requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, process reviews, and solution design sessions to identify business needs and define future-state capabilities.
  • Develop detailed requirements artifacts, including:
    • Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
    • Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs)
    • User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
    • Process Flows
    • Data Mapping Documentation
    • Use Cases
    • System Integration Specifications
    • Business Rules Documentation
  • Ensure requirements maintain clear traceability from business objectives through technical implementation and testing.

Technical Analysis & Solution Design
  • Perform end-to-end systems analysis across applications, databases, interfaces, APIs, workflows, and downstream integrations.
  • Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to design scalable, resilient, and future-ready solutions.
  • Evaluate current-state systems and identify opportunities for modernization, automation, process optimization, and technical debt reduction.
  • Define and validate system impacts, data requirements, integration points, dependencies, and solution architecture considerations.
  • Provide guidance on application design decisions to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and technology strategies.
  • Review technical specifications and designs to ensure accurate implementation of business requirements.

Data, Integration & Digital Enablement
  • Analyze data flows, data lineage, business rules, and data quality requirements across multiple systems.
  • Partner with data and engineering teams to support API integrations, cloud-based solutions, event-driven architectures, and digital modernization initiatives.
  • Support enterprise data governance initiatives by ensuring accurate data definitions, controls, and end-to-end traceability.
  • Drive requirements and analysis activities supporting real-time decisioning, customer journey optimization, risk assessment, and marketing personalization capabilities.
  • Leverage data-driven insights and analytics to identify opportunities for business improvement and process efficiency.

Delivery Leadership & Execution
  • Lead application systems analysis efforts across multiple concurrent initiatives with varying levels of complexity and strategic importance.
  • Work closely with Agile delivery teams throughout all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, release planning, user acceptance testing, and production implementation activities.
  • Ensure requirements are implementation-ready and sufficiently detailed to support development, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Monitor project progress, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
  • Identify gaps, risks, roadblocks, and opportunities early and drive timely resolutions.

Risk, Controls & Regulatory Compliance
  • Support initiatives involving regulatory requirements, risk controls, customer privacy, and data governance standards.
  • Proactively identify and assess business, operational, technical, and implementation risks associated with proposed solutions.
  • Ensure solutions comply with corporate policies, security standards, regulatory obligations, and control frameworks.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Control teams to address findings, remediation activities, and control requirements.
  • Maintain transparency through proactive communication, issue escalation, and risk management practices.

Leadership, Collaboration & Influence
  • Serve as a subject matter expert across business processes, systems, and technology capabilities supporting Acquisitions, Marketing, and Risk functions.
  • Mentor and coach business analysts, technology analysts, and project team members to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Drive alignment among diverse stakeholder groups with competing priorities and objectives.
  • Influence decision-making through data-driven analysis, business cases, and technology recommendations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and delivery excellence.

Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in Application Development, Systems Analysis, Technical Business Analysis, Product Delivery, or related technology disciplines.
  • Proven experience delivering complex enterprise technology solutions from requirements definition through implementation.
  • Strong technical foundation with the ability to understand application architectures, APIs, databases, integrations, cloud technologies, and software engineering concepts.
  • Extensive experience gathering, documenting, validating, and managing business, technical, process, and data requirements.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, systems, and delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex business and technical issues.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Consumer Banking, Credit Cards, Acquisitions, Marketing, Underwriting, Credit Risk, or Customer Lifecycle Management functions.
  • Knowledge of customer acquisition funnels, digital marketing platforms, campaign management technologies, decision engines, and customer onboarding processes.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, microservices architecture, APIs, event-driven architecture, and modern application ecosystems.
  • Understanding of data governance, data management, reporting, analytics, and AI-enabled business capabilities.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, SQL, Visio, Azure DevOps, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting large-scale modernization, transformation, or regulatory programs within financial services.
