EDI Assistant
Location: New York, NY (midtown Manhattan)
Hybrid: Onsite Monday-Thursday, Fridays are remote
Duration: Direct hire/permanent
Salary: $73-75K
Notes on role:
  • Must have experience with EDI mapping using Gentran Server for Windows 5.3.1 Patch 8
  • Experience with BlueCherry Classic ERP system experience preferred
  • Experience with Cleo EDI and/or Seagull Scientific''s BarTender 2016 would be a huge plus
Overview:
The EDI Assistant is a critical role in the company working with and serves as the primary backup to the EDI Manager. This position demands high attention to detail, and a high technical skillset; along with effective verbal and written communication skills.
The EDI Assistant will ensure that the EDI documents are processed in a timely manner. In addition, the EDI Assistant must maintain constant and effective communication with the EDI Manager and together you will communicate with internal Customer Service, Logistics, Vendor Compliance departments, as well as with the EDI personnel of our various trading partners, (retailers, vendors and e-commerce). You will also work closely with the EDI Manager with on-boarding new partners as needed. The EDI Assistant must be able to do mapping using the translation software, Gentran Server for Windows (5.3.1. Patch 8).
This position requires a computer savvy person who is adept with IBM''s Sterling Gentran Server for Windows (5.3.1. Patch 8). (CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO MAP!) Furthermore, the right person will be well versed in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, (SQL is helpful). Lastly, the successful candidate will be able to learn and work with these software platforms: CGS''s BlueCherry ERP (Classic 08.30.01.04, SP 317 VP 00545), CLEO (5.8.1.0 Java 1.8.0_442) & Seagull Scientific''s BarTender 2016 (11.0.6.3141).
Overall duties:
  • Back up the EDI Manager.
  • Help maintain our relationships with Value Added Networks (SPS Commerce & Liaison); and our Communication Partner CLEO and/or handle direct connections via FTP with various Retailers & Vendors. In addition, work with Customer Service & Logistics to help ensure effective utilization of partner E-Commerce portals, (CommerceHub, DSCO, Rithum, VendorNet and any other(s)).

  • Lead the development of customer driven FLAT-FILE equivalents for both Inbound & Outbound versions of the above EDI documents for any NON-VAN traded trading partners. Work with Director of IT where needed on Flat-File Needs.
  • Lead in-house Label design & maintenance for UCC, UPC, Item & Carton level labels utilizing CGS''s BlueCherry Label Builder and/or Seagull Scientific''s BarTender 2016.
  • Liaison with CGS, (the vendor for the BlueCherry ERP system), to report any required changes and/or report any issues occurring in regard to Gentran MAPs and/or BlueCherry Meta Data or Processes, which hinder the timely and/or accurate EDI data flow.
  • Maintain BlueCherry''s Task Scheduler for the Allocations Process and Manually Kick-off any Special Allocations, as needed. Also maintain the Allocations Control Reference to ensure proper allocations outcome.
  • Liaison with Customer Service & Vendor Compliance to onboard new accounts and update accounts efficiently.
  • Liaison with Vendor Compliance, Customer Service & Logistics to ensure JSSI maintains EDI & Label compliance.
  • Maintain relationships and accuracy with various UPC catalogs of the company, (GXS, Sterling & Intertrade).
  • Download EDI traffic reports from VANs and/or where necessary and cross check each against Gentran and Blue Cherry reports to ensure all EDI documents are accounted for.
  • May be assigned other duties/special projects as needed. Must be hands on!
