Positive attitudes are contagiousPosition SummaryThe HR Manager is the on-site HR resource for employees and front-line leaders. This role supports plant operations by delivering responsive HR services, coaching leaders on people matters, administering key HR processes, and helping drive a safe, compliant, and engaging workplace. The position partners with corporate/centralized HR and safety teams to ensure programs and policies are executed consistently while adapting support to meet plant needs.Responsibilities:Build and maintain trusted relationships with plant leadership and employees at all levels.Guide leaders on employee relations, performance management, attendance, and policy interpretation; provide practical, timely guidance.Manage and administer core HR processes across the employee life cycle: recruiting, onboarding, performance management, employee changes, and offboarding.Lead and support employee relations investigations, corrective action documentation, and conflict resolution in alignment with company policy.Coordinate recruiting activities, including postings, screening, interview scheduling, and onboarding.Support employee engagement initiatives to improve morale and retention, such as plant celebrations and events.Administer or coordinate benefits enrollment, leave administration, and payroll support activities in partnership with centralized HR teams.Maintain accurate employee files and documentation. Ensure timely processing of employment, status, and pay-related changes.Facilitate training (orientation, safety/compliance, supervisor development) and track completion requirements.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and support plant adherence to company policies and procedures.Coordinate site safety initiatives in partnership with plant leadership; track leading/lagging indicators and follow up on corrective actions.Support OSHA and other regulatory compliance activities, including maintaining required postings and partnering on regulatory interactions as needed.Partner with leadership and third-party administrators to support workers compensation claim reporting, documentation, and return-to-work coordination, as applicable.QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of progressive, broad HR experience; manufacturing and/or plant HR experience strongly preferred.Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.Ability to balance plant-level needs with company objectives and partner effectively with centralized teams.Working knowledge across core HR disciplines (employee relations, staffing, performance management, compensation/benefits fundamentals) and applicable employment laws.Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); ability to learn new systems quickly.Bachelor?s degree in human resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills; able to handle sensitive information with discretionSHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification (or PHR/SPHR).Experience supporting hourly workforces and attendance/leave administration.
