What is the difference between Mail Scanning vs Mail Sorting?

AspectMail Scanning
CredentialsBasic computer skills, attention to detail
Work EnvironmentOffice or mailroom setting, often part-time or full-time
Industry UsageMail handling, document management, shipping services
Common Search IntentUnderstanding mail processing roles, job requirements

Mail Scanning involves digitizing physical mail by creating electronic copies, often for remote access or record-keeping. Mail Sorting, on the other hand, involves categorizing and organizing incoming mail based on destination or type. While both roles handle physical mail, Mail Scanning focuses on digital conversion, whereas Mail Sorting emphasizes physical organization. Both jobs are essential in mailroom operations and often overlap in mail handling tasks, but they serve different primary functions in the mail processing workflow.
