Office Mail Room Assistant - Temporary

Location: Stamford, CT
Reports To: Manager, Corporate Services
Position Type: Temporary, In-Office
Duration: 3 Months
Schedule: 3–4 Days per Week, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (Monday through Wednesday)
Pay Rate: $20–$25 per Hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and energetic Temporary Office Mail Room Assistant to support our Corporate Services team for a three-month assignment. This role is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing mail, shipping and fulfillment activities, inventory management, and general mail room operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable performing both administrative and physical tasks in a fast-paced office environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages.
  • Process daily outgoing mail using mailing equipment.
  • Prepare packages and materials for shipment.
  • Operate shipping software and systems, including FedEx.
  • Assist with marketing mailings and special distribution projects.
  • Complete order fulfillment requests for departments.
  • Perform copying, printing, and document preparation tasks.
  • Order and restock office, kitchen, maintenance, and mail room supplies.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of mail room and storage areas.
  • Support general mail room operations and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move boxes, packages, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Comfortable using hand trucks and push carts.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, sorting, and moving of packages and supplies.
  • Regular use of office equipment, shipping systems, and mail processing equipment.
  • Work is performed in an office and mail room environment.
