Part-Time Legal Assistant / Paralegal

Location: Onsite
Schedule: Approximately 16–20 Hours Per Week
Position Type: Temporary / Contract

A legal scholar and experienced pro se litigant is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant or Paralegal to provide part-time support with active state and federal litigation matters. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, managing complex files, and assisting with litigation-related administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Organize, maintain, and manage physical and electronic case files
  • Assist with filing pleadings and other legal documents in both state and federal courts
  • Prepare, format, and proofread legal correspondence
  • Draft routine letters, notices, and administrative documents
  • Coordinate mailing, service, and delivery of legal documents
  • Track filing deadlines and maintain litigation calendars
  • Assist with document organization, indexing, and records management
  • Conduct basic legal and factual research as needed
  • Support matters involving commercial civil litigation, business disputes, and real estate-related issues
  • Assist with general office organization and administrative support
Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, Litigation Assistant, or Paralegal
  • Familiarity with state and federal court filing procedures
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage large volumes of documents and case materials
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PDF software, and electronic filing systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
